So last year I mentioned how the Blumell children watch The Lord of the Rings every Christmas. This year is no exception; however, we haven't finished yet. But rest assured we will. What is Christmas without Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli & co?
However a tradition going way back almost as far as I can remember is Graham Cracker Houses. Every Christmas we would make Graham Cracker Houses complete with icing, and various forms of candy. The last few years I have passed on this tradition. My houses were always not that great. I don't have the patience. Probably the same reason why I am terrible at crafts. (At young women's and enrichment craft activities, I was always the first one done. And my crafts were not pretty to say the least!) So it is safe to say that I am not a crafty person. I have never scrap-booked in my life with no plans to start. The above pictures is Janine's and Elizabeth's graham cracker rendition of St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. It is quite incredible don't you think? As much as I wish I could say that I helped with this feat, I merely watched as the artists in the family worked their magic. Every year they have gotten more and more ambitious. Last year Elizabeth made Notre Dame complete with flying buttress out of candy canes. I am excited to see what they will make next year.
